Another of the region's must-try beverages is Pineau des Charentes. White, red or rosé, it offers a unique palette of subtle aromas, depending on the grapes used to make it. This singular wine is the fruit of the marriage (called mutage) between grape juice and cognac brandy, produced in the appellation area. Each Pineau des Charentes is unique: not one, but many Pineau des Charentes, born of the know-how of the winegrowers and long ageing in oak barrels.
